Achtergrond
An ectopic pregnancy occurs when a fertilized egg implants itself outside of the uterus, often in the fallopian tube. These types of pregnancies are not viable and can pose serious health risks to the woman.
The decision to halt the research was made to further investigate the link between the new pill and the increased incidence of ectopic pregnancies.
